Spot Cleaning Upholstery in Your Home or Office
Upholstery requires different care than carpet. Treating spots and stains on upholstery needs specialized skills and cleaners. Never use carpet or rug spot cleaners on upholstery, as this can cause permanent fabric damage.
How to Handle a Spill on Upholstery:
Gently scrape off any solid material using a spoon or dull knife.
Blot liquids carefully using a white cotton cloth or white paper towel—avoid rubbing.
Follow by blotting the area with a damp white cotton cloth to lift remaining moisture.
For Acidic Stains (Wine, Coffee, Tea, Fruit Juice, Vomit):
After the initial steps, lightly spray the stained area with club soda using a sprayer. Let it sit for a few minutes, then blot dry.
