Boston Carpet Cleaning

Boston Carpet Cleaning

Why is carpet cleaning in Boston so different from carpet cleaning in other places? Honestly, you could put carpet cleaning into different categories. The two largest categories are whether it is in a large metropolitan area or the suburbs. When cleaning carpets in a suburb, few restrictions define what method you use for your cleaning. On the other hand, try cleaning carpets in a city like Boston with a truck mount operation and you will soon realize a few problems. Things like you can’t find a parking place anywhere within a quarter-mile of the residence or the residence is on the 20th floor of a high rise. I can only imagine the looks on the concierge’s face when you ask him if you can run your hoses in the lobby and up the stairwell or perhaps out the window of some of the higher-end residences like the Four Seasons Condo’s or Rowes Warf. That’s just not going to happen, trust me.

The good part is today with the level of quality that portable equipment offers, you don’t have to worry. The actual cleaning power of portables can be equal or even superior to that of truck mounts when considering the proper factors needed in cleaning carpets in Boston.

The keywords being, proper factors needed in cleaning carpets in Boston. People sometimes are misguided to think, bigger, stronger, and more powerful is better. While you could not be more wrong when it comes to cleaning carpets in Boston. I keep referring to Boston for a reason. That being, like most metropolitan cities, real estate is expensive and people that can afford to live in a city like Boston will usually purchase more expensive rugs. Most of these will be comprised of wool, linen, silk, or other natural fibers. So, when you consider how to clean better quality rugs and carpets like these, you don’t want to generate too much heat or too much pressure. You will ruin them very easily. Cleaning of carpets of these qualities needs someone to clean them that has the knowledge of these fibers as well as the structural support fibers that are just below the surface of the face yarns and the proper training. Many of these fibers can and will be damaged if they get too wet, are exposed to chemicals that are in the wrong ph range, for that fiber or blend of different fibers, have cleaners that contain buffered agents when not desired or necessary as well as being cleaned at a higher temperature than recommended.

After cleaning carpets for over 50 years in Boston, my business, Alec’s Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning has become a household name in Boston and I find our name is circulated among almost every high-end residential complex in Boston. Today, I no longer clean the carpets myself but I do spend all my time training my employees and teaching them skills that they will need to continue to provide the people of Boston with the best possible carpet cleaning experience.  When it comes to training our employees unlike most companies, that will send employees for two days of classes to teach them all about carpet cleaning, then send them out on their way. Our technicians work every day with our general manager for six months to make sure they are fully capable and understand what challenges may lie ahead of them, along with requiring them to read and understand many manuals on carpet cleaning. After six months of training, they are then spoon-fed jobs and monitored closely to ensure our clients are receiving the best possible carpet cleaning service. They also will continue their training in our plant regularly and after a few years are considered fully trained. Even then, I am always doing further research on the latest technologies, cleaning agents as well as any issues that become relevant in our industry as well as testing new products and pass these latest bits of knowledge onto all our employees.

When it is all said and done, we find we are far superior to other carpet cleaning companies in Boston because of what we put in behind the scenes. Proper vetting of employees to ensure we hire people that have a passion to be the best possible and detailed in both their approach as well as their superior treatment to our client and their furnishings. Then training goes far beyond what most could ever comprehend. This is why Alec’s Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning is considered the best Boston carpet cleaning company.
